Malaysia and Singapore, Oct 5, 2012 ? Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT) ? a world leader in high-performance network security ? today announced that its flagship FortiGate® integrated multi-threat security appliance family has won four Readers’ Choice awards from Computerworld Singapore and Computerworld Malaysia. Fortinet clinched awards in the categories of unified threat management (UTM) and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) in both countries.

This is the fourth consecutive year that Fortinet has claimed Readers' Choice awards in Singapore, and the second consecutive year the company has won in Malaysia.

Computerworld's Readers' Choice awards are presented to vendors that garner the most votes from end-users that pick their favorite products in a number of predetermined categories, and represent one of the strongest endorsements by IT professionals. This year’s award ceremonies were held at Singapore's Raffles Hotel and Kuala Lumpur's Sheraton Imperial on Oct 4 and Sept 25, respectively.

"Fortinet is a well established brand in the network security market and this comes across clearly in the number of votes it picked up. The vendor's victory this year must be especially sweet, with it extending its dominance beyond its traditional UTM stronghold to the IDS/IPS space," said Computerworld Singapore editor Jack Loo.

These awards add to the strong recognition Fortinet has already received for its UTM and IDS/IPS products. This January, BreakingPoint tests show that the FortiGate-5140B is the world's fastest firewall, and in August, Fortinet received the "Recommended" rating from NSS Labs following a comprehensive network intrusion prevention test.
