Independently-Assured Security Certification Reinforces Fortinets Commitment to Government and Enterprise Customers.

SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 4, 2013 - Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT) - a world leader in high-performance network security today announced the companys FortiAnalyzer v4.0 MR3 firmware and FortiAnalyzer family of logging, analyzing and reporting appliances has received certification for Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL)2+. The FortiAnalyzer family of appliances securely aggregates log data from Fortinet network security devices and other syslog-compatible devices. A broad suite of easily customized reports enables users to analyze, report and archive security event, network traffic, Web content and messaging data to measure policy compliance.

The Common Criteria certification process provides a third-party evaluation service for determining the trustworthiness of information technology security products, which is fundamentally important to the companys enterprise and government customers. Evaluations involve formal rigorous analysis and testing to examine security aspects of a product or system. Extensive testing activities involve a broad and formally repeatable process, confirming that the security product functions as claimed by the manufacturer. Security weaknesses and potential vulnerabilities are specifically examined during an evaluation.

The FortiAnalyzer platform integrates network logging, analysis and reporting to increase an organizations knowledge of security events throughout its network. With the FortiAnalyzer family, organizations can centralize security event analysis, forensic research, reporting, content archiving, data mining, malicious file quarantining and vulnerability management in a single platform.

During the evaluation we found Fortinets FortiAnalyzer v4.0 MR3 to be a comprehensive log collection, analysis and reporting tool that works well with a wide variety of Fortinet and other Syslog compatible devices in a secure manner, said Erin Connor, director of the EWA-Canada Common Criteria testing lab. This EAL 2+ evaluation is the latest in Fortinets continuing commitment to providing high quality products that are independently verified to meet international security standards.

As Fortinet continues to focus on growing sales in large enterprises and government markets, industry certifications such as Common Criteria EAL 2+ become critical, said Steve Kirk, vice director of Fortinet Federal. By attaining the EAL 2+ certification, our customers know that the FortiAnalyzer family offers a trusted security solution and an assurance that we will be there to provide full support over the long term.

The Common Criteria for IT Security Evaluations, also known as ISO standard 15408, was developed by the national security organizations of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and The Netherlands. It provides a broad range of evaluation criteria for many types of commercial and nationally-sensitive government-use IT security products.

In January of this year, a number of Fortinet products were Department of Defense UC APL Certified. Additional certifications that Fortinet products have received include: ISO 9001:2008, NSS, ICSA Labs, Virus Bulletin, FIPS, U.S. Army IAAPL and Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level 4 (EAL 4+).
