Network security specialist to speak at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2012

Barcelona, Spain October 29, 2012- Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT), a world leader in high-performance network security, will be attending the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo Barcelona 2012 as a Platinum Sponsor and will share with the senior IT management community insights on how to address the new security challenges inherent to the practice of BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). At the event, which takes place 5 8 November 2012 at the CCIB (Centre Convencions Internacional Barcelona), Graeme Nash, Director of Strategic Solutions at Fortinet, will present on the theme of How to Make you Security Aware in a BYOD World.

Earlier this year, Fortinet has conducted independent research that reveals the extent of the threat posed to the future of corporate IT systems by the first generation of BYOD users. The results of the international survey, which included more than 3,800 respondents from 15 countries, showed that 1-in-3 people have, or would, contravene company policy banning the use of personal devices at work or for work purposes.

During his Solution Provider Session presentation scheduled on Wednesday November 7th at 16:00 in Room #112, Graeme Nash will look at how businesses can retain control of their networks while giving users the information they need when they need it, and will explain how, with features such as client reputation, endpoint profiling and authentication, Fortinet can make businesses security aware through granular control over users, devices, data and applications.
