End-Users Across Asia Pick Fortinet's FortiGate Integrated Multi-Threat Appliances as the Industry's Best

Singapore, October 31, 2012 - Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT) ? a world leader in high-performance network security ? today announced that it has won the 2012 Network World Asia (NWA) Readers Choice Awards in the category of Enterprise Unified Threat Management (UTM).

Fortinet's solutions were given top marks by Asia Pacific end-users who read Network World Asia magazine or its sister websites Networks Asia, Security Asia and Storage Asia. The award ceremony was held in Singapore on October 30.

Said Victor Ng, Southeast Asia Bureau Chief for Network World Asia: "Popular opinion has validated Fortinet's leading position in the UTM market. Clearly, the vendor's FortiGate appliances are widely adopted across the region, and their users are impressed with their performance and business impact."

Conducted by the Questex Media Group, which owns the four pan-Asia publications, the NWA Readers Choice Awards asked technology directors, IT project heads, network managers and data center managers to vote for their favourite vendors based on which vendors made the most impact on their organizations. There were 36 categories of IT solutions and only end-user votes were counted to ensure that the award is representative of market sentiment.

"This award is a great testament to the business value our FortiGate consolidated security platforms are delivering to enterprises across Asia, said Patrice Perche, senior vice president for international sales and support for Fortinet. Our priority is to keep innovating on these platforms like we just did with the recent introduction of our FortiOS 5 operating system, delivering network security intelligence to enterprises to help them fight advanced threats and secure BYOD environments."

Ranging from the FortiGate-20 series for small offices to the FortiGate-5000 series for large enterprises, service providers and carriers, the FortiGate line combines the FortiOS security operating system with FortiASIC processors and other hardware to provide a comprehensive and high-performance array of security and networking functions including firewall, VPN, traffic shaping, IPS, antivirus, antispam, Web filtering and application control. FortiGate appliances give cost-effective and comprehensive protection against network, content and application-level threats ? including complex attacks favored by cybercriminals ? without degrading network availability and uptime.
